About the event

Artillery played a pivotal role in the American Revolution for both sides of the conflict, the New York, or Northern campaign was no different. During the campaign, the Royal Artillery deployed several smaller cannons onto the field which allowed them to move quickly and to stay with the infantry. Our recreated unit has two such cannons, allowing us similar capabilities on the recreated battlefield. Visitors will be able to not only see the cannons, but also come up to them and interact with both the cannons and the crews. All of our members are highly passionate and excited to engage with visitors, allowing them to try on different pieces of kit, learn how the cannons operate, learn how our muskets function, and discuss many different facets of 18th century life, both civilian and military. Visitors will be able to see the cannons firing, the crews drilling, the cannons being moved quickly across the field, and hauled up hills with block and tackle. We strive to provide a very dynamic experience for all!
